The "No Child Left Behind" act is an unfunded mandate to the states that will make it more difficult for states to educate children. The Head Start program is being dismantled by the Republican House, which has turned Head Start into a block grant that no longer has to meet Head Start federal guidelines in some states now. The Republicans removed the child tax credit for low income working families, including many families of active-duty military who earn between approximately $10,000 to $20,000 per year.
